Drake Goldeneye Polymer Clay Bird Sculpture

My latest bird sculpture: a half-scale model in a decorative decoy style of a drake Goldeneye duck, created from polymer clay and realistically painted with acrylics. Since first posting it on here I’ve made a further refinement to this sculpture – it now has hand-painted glass eyes, which greatly add to the realism of the piece. It’s a bit of a cliche to say that the eyes follow you round the room, but they really do!

It’s now for sale in my Etsy shop.

I’m really enjoying making these, and will hopefully have a whole flock of bird sculptures to exhibit at the Rutland Water Birdfair in August. Next on the list is a drake Harlequin duck.
