It’s been a long time since I updated this site, due mainly to being busy with surveys and fieldwork. But as that has come to an end, at least for the time being, I now have time to return to doing some artwork.
One of the things I’ve been doing is experimenting with linocut printing, and this Great Spotted Woodpecker is the first print I’ve felt happy enough with to show people. I couldn’t decide whether I preferred it with a blue sky background or without, but as it’s hand coloured, I shall be producing a few of each version. A few will be for sale at the BTO Conference art exhibition at Swanwick, Derbyshire, in early December (more on this later).
